On a recent tour “The Clean-Up Tour”, or so it became, we found some nice findings on the sea bottom. This time it was battery cells. Not just one or two cells but some 15 to 20 of them; a true sign of intentional disposal. These cells will discharge over time large amounts of cadmium, lead nickel and lithium, just to name a few most common elements. It never ceases to amaze me how careless people can be to a sensitive environment where they are presently vacationing. Why go through all the trouble of flying there to see it in person if they anyway don’t care: People like this should rent a movie and stay home!
